Vampiress Review: "Dreaming Dracula"

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4459126/

The Gist: A girl attempting to learn the story of Dracula falls asleep and dreams she is in the story.

Clarification: Basically it's just the Dracula story but in German.

Selling Point: see below

Female Vampire Factor: Since it is the Dracula story you get your Lucy seducing Quincy and fanging out for the first time scene.
Then your Lucy rises from the dead and gets staked scene.
But the real selling point of this film is the use of Dracula's brides because on top of your standard scenes of them attacking Jonathon Harker but being stopped by Dracula and your end scene of them being destroyed....
They actually do get some individual screen time. One haunts Harker during his carriage ride to the castle as he's writing to Mina.
One repeatedly seduces Harker and bites him to prevent him from escaping the castle.
and one runs seductive interference allowing Dracula to get to Lucy by detracting and biting the men guarding her.
For that the film gets a Vampire Beauty Rating of 4 out of 5.  More brides is never a bad thing in my opinion.  This is one Mina fang out scene from a 5.

Vampiress Review: "Hello Ms Vampire Part 1"

The Gist: A vampire is trying her best to live a normal life and attend school but her life is turned upside down when the vampire who turned her along with a group of evil vampires that are after him enter her life.

Clarification:  Basically you have a girl at school who is trying to fit in.  Ironically she has a roommate who is obsessed with both vampires and social media and often walks around in vampire fangs.  All the while she is doing everything she can to not feed.

Selling Point: Basically an action movie but with fangs.

Female Vampire Factor: First you have the main character.  Throughout the film she's in situations where she has to hold her bloodlust back.  This only results in her eyes turning red.
That is until the films final fight seen where her fangs do finally come out.
Next you have the female of the evil vampires.  She flashes her fangs quite often given that she's evil and we see her feed on humans multiple times.
She also spends the entire movie dressed like a leather clad Laura Croft.
Finally the main characters roommate.  She's not actually a vampire but as mentioned above she is vampire obsessed and does wear fangs occasionally.
When she finds out her roommate is a vampire her reaction was to get super excited and beg her to bite her.
I like the concept even if it seems like something that would happen on a seasons of the Vampire Diaries.  I give it a Vampire Beauty Rating of 4 out of 5.

Vampiress Review: "Hello Mr Vampire"

The Gist: A girl goes to Germany to study and learns the story of an Asian princess who falls in love with a vampire.

Clarification: Basically the story is a fairy tale.  An Asian woman is arranged to be married to a prince.  Problem is she doesn't really like the guy.  On top of that because of a mark on the back of her neck she constantly has dreams of a German count.  The thing is these aren't dreams as the mark is actually giving her memories of his long dead lover.  When they finally meet they fall for each other but as you would imagine the man she's already promised to and her father are completely against it and plan to take the vampire out one way or another.

Biggest Complaint: Unless you like films like Twilight, stay clear.

Female Vampire Factor: The only females with fangs in this one are in a scene where the German count has a "vampire themed costume party".   They are seen openly feeding on guests in a quick montage.
Other than this quick scene the count is the only vampire in the film.  I give it a Vampire Beauty Rating of 2 out of 5.  This is your basic romantic style art film aimed at the female viewer.  That means not much eye candy.

Vampiress Review: "Dracula Cinta"

The Gist: The spirit of Dracula is possessing everyday people and feeding on women wearing red.

Clarification: A modern Hammer style Dracula film out of Indonesia.  A group sneaks into a museum after hours where Dracula's fangs are being displayed.  They pour blood on the fangs which results in the spirit of Dracula awakening and possessing one of them.  Since he doesn't have a physical form Dracula goes from body to body allowing him to have access to specifically women wearing red which was the color his love was wearing when he was murdered by hunters.

Selling Point: It's a great concept for a vampire film.  Way easier to understand than Graveyard Shift The Understudy and that film was actually in a language I was native in.

Female Vampire Factor:  Eventually you do have victims returning as vampires. The Second victim bitten by her boyfriend is the first to turn.
She has mixed results as a vampire.  Taking a group of unsuspecting guys down but allowing what seemed by be a transsexual prostitute to get away.
The First victim wakes up in a morgue where she takes out two people including the coroner (who was really enjoying looking at her naked body).
Then there are plenty of generic female vamps in the films final martial arts brawls.
But in the answer to the question of does she or doesn't she for the hot main character?
The answer is no (damn Dracula and his procrastination). She gets saved just in time.

That doesn't change the fact that this is a great roster so I give it a Vampire Beauty Rating of 5 out of 5.

Vampiress Review: "Dracula 2012 (Aur Ek Dracula)"

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2903778/

The Gist: It's Dracula but in India instead of England and modern

Clarification: They're pretty true to the source material.  It's a Bollywood movie so it's extremely long and there are musical numbers.   Also the Christianity aspect has been removed and replaced with Hindu as is in most cases of vampire films in India.

Biggest Complaint: No turn for Meena in this one.  She goes temporarily evil but no fangs.

Female Vampire Factor: It's your standard fair for a Dracula story.  I do have to say, Dracula's 2nd female victim Taara in the film is seriously hot (Shraddha Das).
Towards the beginning of the film there's also a musical number featuring a number of female vampires.
If you know your Dracula then you know the other female vamp.  Lucy (Priya Nambiar) gets turned and you have your scene when she goes after a child.
Without Meena fanging out the bride scene is the best vampire scene in the film that only has a few scenes with female vampires.  I give it a Vampire Beauty Rating of 3 out of 5.  The three scenes in the film are good but you have to sit through a nearly two and a half hour film to see them.

Vampiress Review: "Neighbours: They are Vampires"

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3592020/

The Gist: A young horror fan believes the couple next door are vampires and seeks the help of a famous vampire expert when no one else believes her.

Clarification:  If it sounds like the movie Fright Night it's because it pretty much is.  Main difference being the Charlie Brewster character is an attractive woman and instead of just one vampire its a couple.

The non horror portions of the film comes off like something you'd see on Nickelodeon during Halloween so somewhat over the top goofy, also since it's Bollywood the film also includes musical numbers.

Selling Point: The original Fright Night is one of the greatest vampire films of the last 40 years so can't complain too much about a film that draws its influence from it.  Especially one that doesn't stray from it's core plot.

Female Vampire Factor:  So the film starts with a musical number where a female seduces a guy.  Eventually the guy sees a mark on her and realizes she's a vampire.  He then uses a talisman to destroy her.  That's right, the hottest vampire is killed in the first ten minutes.
It's ok though because the male vampire resurrects her Karnstein trilogy style into the body of a woman named Tanya who he finds on the side of the road after getting a flat (Roushika Reikhi)
From that point on Tanya takes on somewhat of a sexy seductress role like Regine Dandridge from Fright Night 2.
Since we're following the Fright Night plot an allie must also get turned.  In this case it's the character "Sweety" (Kirti Vaidya).
Basically this is this films version of the "Evil Ed" scene from the original Fright Night.
She doesn't get destroyed in this scene and just kind of disappears never to be seen again.

The best use of fangs is definitely in the movies opening scene.  After that the horror elements are few and far between so I'm giving it a Vampire Beauty Rating of 3 out of 5.  Had the film concentrated more on the horror and less on the "no one believes the girl so lets laugh at her" scenes this would have been a much better film but it's definitely good enough for a viewing (if you can find a translated version).

Vampiress Review: "Van Dexter, Vampire Slayer Begins"

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3673592/

The Gist: The story of how an 8 year old became a vampire slayer.

Clarification: Have you ever watched "Tim and Eric's Awesome Show Great Job" on Adult Swim?  Well this film is that kind of weird.   A Vampire Slayer who is also an inventer has a kid with his wife.  When vampires come to attack the slayer they end up tricking him into thinking they want his kid but end up taking and murdering his wife instead.

8 Years later the kid grows up to become a vampire slayer himself and his first case is helping a woman whose teenage daughter is a vampire.

Female Vampire Factor: The crew who attack the inventer and his wife has one female vampire who seems to be the leader.
Then 8 year old Van Dexter fought a teenage vampire girl
There are no fangs in the film other than the end "twist" where you see some cheap novelty ones.  The film starts like a legit attempt at someone trying to make a film for the first time and then ended like a kids youtube film that they made after borrowing their parents camcorder.  It's very clear this is a guy and his family doing something for fun so I won't be too harsh on it though it gets a Vampire Beauty Rating of 1 out of 5 either way.

I wouldn't even consider reviewing this on this site if it weren't for the fact that their is a legit scene where it's hinted that a grown woman was going to show an 8 year old her underwear and try to exchange sex for his services (but she ends up giving him spaghetti O's instead).
That scene was Dateline NBC cringe worthy to be honest.

Vampiress Review: "Turned"

The Gist: A vampire hunter is caught and turned by a group of vampires and he now has less than 24 hours to finish his mission of destroying them before he turns to one himself.

Clarification: Basically they took the last 15 minutes of John Carpenters Vampires and turned it into it's own short.  I do like what they did with it though.  You've got Jack the vampire hunter who is your Bruce Willis type action hero and his priest sidekick (not very good priest considering how often he cusses) and his goal is to track down and kill Monty a very cocky "big man on campus" acting vampire.

Selling Point: The story telling is done pretty well.  The viewer starts with learning Jack's situation and as the film goes on you learned the events that lead up to it through conversations.

Female Vampire Factor: There is a bunch of female vampires in the film but none of them really do anything vampiric. First you have Heather, Jack's ex girlfriend who set him up to be turned in the first place played by Athena Brensberger.
She is tracked down for info and doesn't make it past this scene.
Then you have Jewel.  A vampire who isn't a fan of Monty who helps Jack escape played by Seregon O'Dassey
Side Note: O'Dassey is in fact a real life vampire IE she has done several interviews admitting that she drinks blood in real life. In the above scene she is talking to another vampire who questions her.  That vampire does have fangs but she never opens her mouth wide enough to see them.
In fact the only vampires who do fang out in the film are background stake fodder ones in the final fight scene.

While it's a pretty enjoyable film they do miss out on giving the other vampire characters more substance so I'll give it a Vampire Beauty Rating of 3 out of 5.
