Vampiress Review: Vampire (1979)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080079/

The Gist: A man finds himself the target of a vampire looking for revenge after turning him into the police for being an art thief.

Clarification: This was a made for TV film in 1979 that is basically just a modern interpretation of the Dracula story but with slight changes and taking place in California revolving around two men hunting the vampire. Probably not so coincidentally the lead vampire hunter in the film is named John Rawlins which is more than likely in homage to vampire film director Jean Rollins.

Female Vampire Factor:  Not much in this film not to mention there are no vampire effects used so no makeup, eyes or fangs.  The main protagonists wife Leslie (Kathryn Harrold) does get turned and he is tasked with killing her ala Lucy in Dracula mid-way through the film (her only scene as a vampire).
Outside of that you've got nothing else in that category so I give it a Vampire Beauty Rating of 1 out of 5

Vampiress Review: Drink, Slay, Love

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5932156/

The Gist: After a run in with a healer, a teenage vampire has developed a conscious and now must stop her fellow vampires from feeding on her new friends and classmates.

Clarification:  A movie based on a novel of the same name for the Lifetime Network it is very much a teen angst style film which comes off as a carbon copy of the Kids BBC Series Young Dracula. Only difference being that the young chosen one who is being groomed to rule vampires but is secretly protecting humans is a young girl.

Selling Point: Before she develops a conscious she's a pretty bad ass vamp.

Female Vampire Factor:  The main vampire in the film is Pearl played by Cierra Ramirez
She starts out as your stereotypical blood sucker in the film, tracking down and hunting desperate young guys who she can sweet talk and then bite.
The main plot point during this portion is she is cocky and careless which eventually gets her staked but not through the heart to kill her.  When she wakes up she can now walk into the sunlight.  Once her family learns this they decide to use her to get victims for a vampire ceremony for the king of vampires in which her job is to infiltrate the local high school and get kids to invite her over (that way they can be drained since vampires can't come in without being invited.
Another side effect of her new found power is she now has human emotions so once she gets to school she ends up standing up for other kids and eventually becoming very popular.
This leads to her not being able to go through with the plan and instead now wanting so save the kids of the school from the rest of the vampires of the city in a very "Buffy the Vampire Slayer film" like finale.

While the plot is like a very rushed version of BBC's Young Dracula it also have a very "My Babysitters a Vampire" feel to it being that Pearl has a lot of qualities of "Sarah" from that show.  I give this a Vampire Beauty Rating of 4 out of 5.  Once she starts acting human fang flashes are few and far between but they do still happen.

Vampiress XXX Review: Cathula

http://film-adult.com/films/foreign/5710-katula-cathula.html

The Gist: People randomly end up in a vampiresses castle and have sex before being bitten and sexed by her.

Clarification: Not much for this film as far as story goes and it's 90% sex.  A woman ends up in a vampiresses castle and opens her coffin just to be bitten and becoming her sex slave.  Meanwhile a group of travelers car breaks down and they end up in the castle as well.  They pick rooms just to also have sex.  Cathula and her new sex slave then go after the travelers.

Selling Point: If you're into orgy's you'll be into the majority of this film.

Female Vampire Factor: The main vampire Cathula is played by Cathy Berry
Her first victim who becomes her right hand is played by Jane Whitehouse
By the films end they add one more by turning a couple of the stranded travelers included an attractive blonde
The film has an open ending as seen in a lot of these movies and there is a sequel (which has even less story than this).  I give the film a Vampire Beauty Rating of 2 out of 5.  It's a pretty raunchy porn with two quick scenes that remind you that vampires are involved.

Vampiress Review: Mistress of Seduction

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0479103/

The Gist:  A Female vampire comes to a college campus in search of the reincarnated soul of the man who killed her father while seducing and making victims of the co-eds she meets along the way.

Clarification: This is early Seduction Cinema (late 1990's/early 2000's) so for those not familiar with that basically it's scripted amateur softcore porn.  Back in the day you would buy these if you weren't old enough to get into real porn stores because it was available at regular retailers since it was softcore and story based.
I would complain about the editing but there really is no editing at least on the version I watched (The VHS version).  By that meaning every take good or bad is still in the film and in some cases multiple takes of the same scene and bloopers are still in the film.  Don't worry though.  If you're watching this for the story you've already screwed up.

Selling Point: As mentioned these types of films used to be an easy way to see some nudity that was otherwise hard to find during an era where you had to go to porn stores and pay for premium cable to see it. By todays standards there's way better stuff for free on the internet.  Honestly even by year 2000 standards this wasn't that good.

Female Vampire Factor:  The main vampire in the film is named Vamprina (Alysabeth Clements).  The backstory is she is the daughter of Dracula.  The guy she's going after is the reincarnation of the vampire hunter that killed her father. Basically she spends the entire movie seducing people by doing an Elvira impression (basically just being very sarcastic but in a sexy way).
Pretty much all the women she encounters in the film with the exception of the first one ends up a vampire by the end.  You see them at the end looking a lot like they're going to an 80's hair band concert when they're preparing to do a soul steeling ritual.
In the final scene the sister of the guy she's looking for gets turned and threatens to find Vamprina to avenge her brother (who commits suicide so Vamprina technically isn't responsible) setting up a possible sequel that I'd assume isn't going to happen since it's been 17 years.
I give the film a Vampire Beauty Rating of 2 out of 5.  This one is skipable.
