Xena Warrior Princess was a syndicated television show which aired from 1995 to 2001.  It followed a female warrior named Xena along with her sidekick Gabrielle as they roam the ancient world battling mythical creatures as well as other warriors. 

In this episode Xena is pitted against the god of blood and whine Bacchus.  Bacchus has been kidnapping young girls from nearby villages and turning them into Bacchae (vampires).

The Bacchae

Bacchae are the minions of Bacchus.  They are all female and are characterized by black cleavagy belly tops, short black skirts, a tiny bat like cape, black boots, long fingernails, slicked back hair, yellow eyes and fangs.  They live off the blood of humans (mostly men).  In other words, they're vampires and there are A LOT of them in this episode.   

Renee O'Connor (Gabrielle)

Gabrielle is the super loyal sidekick of Xena.  Unfortunately for Gabrielle (but great for us) she gets put under the Bachae's spell while having a nice dance with them at a party.  After a few hours she fangs out and flies away.  From there its up to Xena to try and save her before she drinks the blood of Bacchus and becomes one of them for good.

Lucy Lawless (Xena)

As the raven haired beauty she was, Xena made the perfect stereotypical vampire but that is not what made this episode great.   Xena learned (via Bacchus himself) that only a Bacchae can kill him so in order to do the deed she asks Gabrielle to bite her (which lets face it, she was going to do anyway) this lead to the most drawn out super hot lesbian style vampire bite in probably network television history.  Making this a great episode all around.
